Why do I write?
The simple answer to that question is I need to write. There are times that a thought lays heavily on me and the only way to move forward and think it through is to write it out. But I could write it down and be done. So why a blog?
I have come to realize, as the tag line says, following Him is an adventure better shared. We are designed to live and work in community. My prayer is that my blog will be a link between believers; a way to create community across distance and time, and to strengthen the bond between followers of Jesus Christ. My favorite times of the week are spent with other believers in community. The writer of Hebrews instructs us we are not to forsake the gathering together and my blog is not intended to take the place of the community of believers in your life.
…and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
My goal is that the Scriptures and topics I write about (and we discuss) will awaken, strengthen, and deepen your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and send you seeking Him through the Scriptures regardless of where you are in your walk. We can encourage and stimulate one another here.
Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
I want to be a sign pointing to the glory and majesty of our holy God as we are, together, Seeking Paradise.
My definition of paradise is anywhere that He is.
Yeah. That means that as I sit in my kitchen listening to the washer run in the other room, the dog sighing as he settles on the tile, and I see the pot from last night still soaking in the sink, I know that this is paradise. I sit sipping my coffee, and I am in paradise because I am with my Lord.
